Mode of Action
- Contains esculin (a coumarin
derivative) which:
- reduces exudate (oozing) and edema
(swelling) in surrounding tissue
- increases venous tone
- Increases plasma antithrombic
activity (anticoagulant)
Drug Interactions
Cautions
- Esculin is found in some
prescription suppositories and creams for treating hemorrhoids. Do not use this product
and those medicines at the same time
- Avoid in patients with kidney
disease
- May cause upset stomach
- Keep out of reach of children
Recommended Dose
- 500-mg extract daily. (Dose may vary from brand to brand)
