Mode of Action
  • Volatile oil has expectorant and vasodilating properties (opens blood vessels)
  • Contains marrubiin which stimulates the secretions of mucous membranes in the bronchia of the lungs
  • Contains marrubinic acid which stimulates bile production by the liver (cholerectic)
Drug Interactions
  • No known drug interactions
Cautions
  • Avoid during pregnancy and breast feeding
  • Large doses have a laxative effect
Recommended Dose
  • 30-180 mg once a day. (Dose may vary from brand to brand)
