Mode of Action
- Volatile oil has expectorant and
vasodilating properties (opens blood vessels)
- Contains marrubiin which
stimulates the secretions of mucous membranes in the bronchia of the lungs
- Contains marrubinic acid which stimulates bile
production by the liver (cholerectic)
Drug Interactions
- No known drug interactions
Cautions
- Avoid during pregnancy and breast
feeding
- Large doses have a laxative effect
Recommended Dose
- 30-180 mg once a day. (Dose may vary from brand
to brand)
