Mode of Action
- Contains the coumarin derivatives ferulic acid and ligustilide which
- Normalize irregular uterine contractions
- Reduce blood clotting in peripheral vessels
- Improve circulation by increasing blood flow to peripheral vessels and reducing peripheral resistance
- Reduce inflammation, pain and spasm
- Increase number of red blood cells and platelets
Drug Interactions
- Use with caution in conjunction with central
nervous system depressants or stimulants
- May decrease the effectiveness of anticoagulant
therapy ("blood thinners")
Cautions
- Sensitive individuals may develop skin
rash
- Avoid during pregnancy and breast
feeding
- Avoid during acute illness
- Avoid in hypermenorrhea (excessively
heavy men-strual periods) or hemorrhagic disease (blood loss)
- Rare reported cases of diarrhea
Recommended Dose
- 450-900 mg three times a day between menstrual periods. (Dose may vary from brand to
brand)
